Alisa Maier, the four-year-old Missouri girl who had been abducted from her front yard, has been found alive, approximately 70 miles from her home. The search for the suspect who kidnapped Alisa from her Louisiana, Missouri home continues.
On Monday, July 5, 2010 Alisa and her brother were playing in their front yard when a man in a vehicle approached the pair and grabbed Alisa, pulled her into his car and sped away. Authorities issued an Amber Alert in Missouri and neighboring Illinois and the search for Alisa ensued. At approximately 9:45 on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 someone saw what appeared to be a little boy exit a vehicle with a loud muffler and wander around a gas station. The eyewitness called 911.
It was determined that the child was not a boy but Alisa Maier, her abductor apparently cut her hair in an attempt to disguise her. The eyewitness’ account of the suspect’s vehicle with a loud muffler has fueled authorities hopes that the suspect will be caught quickly. The vehicle has been described as dark brown, mid size and with four-doors. It is possibly a Ford Escort. The vehicle has missing wheel covers on the driver’s side, it is unclear whether there are wheel covers on the passenger side.
Alisa Maier was transported to a nearby hospital where she was thoroughly examined. She has since been released and is home with her family.
The suspect is described as having dark hair, tan skin and being in his late teens to early twenties, but do not rule out other possibilities. If you have any information regarding the suspect who abducted Alisa Maier you are asked to call the Louisiana Police Department at 573-754-4021. In case of an emergency call 911.
